KEY ADVANTAGE
OF USING ATTIC NT IN AN ATTIC/ROOF SPACE:
Increases existing insulation performance
THERMO REFLECT ATTIC NT - reflects 97%
of radiant heat transfer, protects the installed R-Value of
attic insulation by controlling moisture and adds an additional
r-5.4* to existing insulation. * ASHRE Handbook: 1997 Fundamentals.
REDUCES ENERGY CONSUMPTION - because
THERMO REFLECT ATTIC NT is made of highly reflective metalized
aluminum, it creates a low-emissivity (low-e) surface to help
reduce heat gain in the summer and heat loss in the winter.
CHANNELS MOISTURE VAPOR AND ALLOWS FOR
BREATHABILITY - when vapor enters the attic from the living
space, THERMO REFLECT ATTIC NT helps diffuse the vapor through
its breathable membrane. This helps prevent the formation
of damaging mold, mildew and wood rot in attic/roof spaces.
INSTALLATION METHOD:
1) Exercise caution when working on insecure floors.
Place a floorboard on the attic floor to stand on.
2) Measure the length of rafters from the ridgepole to bottom
of the attic floor.
Be sure to leave a 6” gap from the ridge vent to allow
for adequate ventilation.
3) Cut Thermo-Reflect Standard NT into the dimensions. For
safety reasons, do not perform the cutting on the attic floor;
carry this out on a stable floor with adequate space to work.
4) Begin stapling from ridge vent, continue fastening every
6” to attic floor.
