PRODUCT
DESCRIPTION:
When tubing is attached to the underside of the sub-floor,
this is known as a below-deck or joist-space dry system. These
systems don’t affect floor height nor do they disrupt
existing floor coverings, making them ideal for retrofit projects.
Under-floor staple up is also ideal for adding ‘floor
warming’ to spot areas in existing rooms.
Because
the heat has to travel further to warm the room, below-floor
systems usually require higher water temperature to perform
as well as above-floor systems. Installing reflective insulation
under the tubes will help direct the heat upward. Between
Joist Insulation offers two pure reflective facings for maximum
reflectivity, plus flattened flanges on either side for easy
stapling to joist frames. The end result is lower energy costs
and increased comfort to the home owner.
INSTALLATION
METHOD 1:
1) Unroll & staple reflective Double Bubble reflective
across the floor joists.
2) Seal joints & perimeter with TVM FOIL Tape (3”
wide).
INSTALLATION
METHOD 2 & 3:
1) Using 16” wide reflective Double Bubble reflective
with Staple Tabs.
Insert material between the
joists to 2” to 4” below heating coils, or as
recommended by manufacturer instructions.
2) Staple into joists.
3) Seal ends using TVM Foil.
4) *Install drywall if desired, per Method #3.
