DUCT INSULATION SOLUTIONS
Typical residential HVAC systems lose
10-30% of heating and cooling energy when air ducts pass through
unconditioned spaces. Insulating duct work serves to reduce
this energy waste and lowers utility bills. Occupants are
also more comfortable in houses with insulated ducts because
heated or cooled air reaches the registers at higher or lower
temperatures, respectively. This helps reduce builder costs
associated with callbacks because homeowners are less likely
to complain about heating or cooling problems.
REFLECTIVE-DOUBLE
BUBBLE-REFLECTIVE
Thermo Reflect Duct Insulation is a double layer of poly-bubbles
bonded to and sandwiched between two sheets of a unique Radiant
Barrier metalicized reflective. Its unique construction is
specially designed to help reduce condensation and radiant
heat gain or loss in HVAC ducts... and no fire or flammability
worries ... it passes NFPA Full Room Burn Test.
• 97% reflectivity
• Easy to install
• Fiber free and environmentally friendly
• Inhibits condensation, mold and fungi
• NFPA 286 Full Room Burn Test Approved
• Helps reduce heat loss through your duct surfaces
• Raises your cooling and heating efficiency
• Helps ensure better climate control and comfort
• R-6 with air-space, R-4.3 without air-space
• ASTM E84-Class 1/Class A fire rating approved also
• ASTM C411-Passed

INSTALLATION
METHODS:
R-6.0
DUCT WRAP WITH FOAM SPACERS
1) Using the double-sided tape provided in the duct accessory
kit, apply foam spacers to duct edges. Spacers do not need
to be applied to the full length of the duct. Break the spacers
and place them every 1 to 2 feet along the duct edges.
2) Wrap Duct Insulation around the duct over the spacers.
Duct Insulation and duct surface to achieve R-6.0.
3) Tape all seams using UL181A FOIL tape.
4) Continue steps 1 to 3 until the entire duct is insulated.
R-5.5
LINEAR WRAP WITH SPACERS
1) Fasten reflective spacers around the duct with double coated
tape every 2 to 3 feet.
This creates the air space (albeit small) needed to achieve
an R-5.5.
2) Wrap insulation around the duct.
3) Seal all seams UL181A FOIL tape.
R-4.3
DUCT WRAP
1) Wrap Duct Insulation loosely around the duct to create
a small air space between the insulation and duct surface.
2) Tape all seams using UL181A FOIL tape.
3) Continue steps 1 to 2 until the entire Duct is insulated.
